At Rosebud's, our mission is to create beautiful and functional outdoor spaces that enhance the lives of our clients. We believe that everyone deserves to have a stunning outdoor space that they can enjoy with family and friends. Some spaces need renewal from years of overgrowth, while others require expansion to reach their fullest potential. We work to deliver at both ends of this spectrum.
Jessica Rose Whalen, owner, has been in the green industry since 2017. She began as a "barrel girl" during her first summer working as a gardener- following behind her crew leaders to pick up piles of debris and dump into their truck. Jessica at the time was a student, and was just looking for a fun and active summer job while home. Later she pursued schooling in horticulture and began her own gardening division for a local landscape construction business
After years of leading a horticulture team for another company, Jessica decided to dedicate herself full time to Rosebud's. She worked out of her personal truck with a dump trailer borrowed from her very supportive parents. Jessica has slowly built Rosebud's Fine Gardening & Design into a flourishing business by working alongside her employees in the field, and providing her undivided attention to her customers every season. She is beyond grateful to each person who has contributed to her success.
With the middle name Rose, Jessica was given a multitude of nicknames as a young girl. Her mom often called her Rosie, her dad often called her Rosebud, and her grandparents used to shout "Go J-RO!" at her school sporting events.
Growing up, Jessica and her grade school BFF shared their middle name, Rose. As young girls, Jessica and her best friend used to brainstorm one day together owning a flower shop named "Rosebud's"
This business name is not only a family nickname; it's a lifelong dream to work with flowers with a brand name developed from the very beginning.

Everyone could use a hand in the garden, right? That is where we come in. Customize the amount you'd like to see us- weekly, every-other week, once a month, or maybe just once a season when you need a hand. Our visits vary depending on the property, but typically include a detailed weeding of the garden beds, a gentle raking throughout the entire garden to turnover mulch and clean up fallen debris, some pruning or deadheading if needed, and organic fertilization or watering of any necessary areas
Whether you plant your annual containers/ vegetable gardens and we maintain them, or Rosebud's takes things over from start to finish- we've got you covered. We quietly tend to containers and/or vegetable gardens multiple times throughout the week with a customized organic fertilization schedule for your plants
You have seasonal options when it comes to planting annuals-
Spring Containers: planted late March/ early April, removed May/June
Vegetable gardens: planted May
Summer containers: planted late May/early June, removed September
Fall Containers: with or without pumpkins & gourds. Planted September, removed November
Winter Containers: installed November, removed February (or when weather allows)
This service acts as a "clean up" just for your garden beds. Typically mow companies focus on leaves so we're here to focus on the plants! We will remove any weeds present, prune shrubs if appropriate for spring time, un-mound any protected plants, rake to remove excess mulch areas, purchase and install new plant materials if a part of your long term design plan, and spread organic fertilizer as needed per bed.
Once again, lawn care companies focus on leaves this time of year- we're here to efficiently put your plant materials to sleep for the season. We begin by properly tending to the seasonal pruning of any hydrangea varieties on property. From there, we tend to each plant variety on property with pruning, dividing, transplanting or removal to fit your long term design plan. Upon completion of all plant care, we blanket garden bed areas in need of soil amending with a layer of fine compost. Composting is always the very last service to be completed for the season.
I am not an architect- I am a garden designer. I will work with you to create a garden scape that may be completed in one large project, or multiple phases over time. I have masons and landscape contractors I work with who can become a part of our project for any hardscape or excavation needs. Whether you wish to have your dream garden now, or look to achieve this vision one piece at a time- Rosebud's will work with you. Fill out the contact form below, we can sip coffee and view your current space together to brainstorm
When we aren't working on customer properties, we are playing with animals. Jessica actively fosters dogs while also housing ducks, chickens, peacocks, goats and a cat at her home. She has 4 resident dogs and 1 foster dog at any given time. If you are interested in adopting a dog, donating money/food/toys to her fosters, or purchasing eggs, reach out to Jessica via text
